PURDUE AT OHIO
STATE
Date/Time: Sat., October 9, 1999, 3:30 P.M.
Location: Ohio Stadium
TV ABC Regional
The Boilermakers visit Ohio Stadium looking to get back into
the win column after getting crushed, 38-12, at Michigan last
Saturday. Their passing game, with QB Drew Brees running the
show, is among the best in the nation. Brees is a heisman candidate
with huge numbers just five games (127 of 222, 1608 yards, 11
TD's and only 4 Int's) this season. Ohio State is looking to
get back on track after getting whipped, 42 - 17 at home, by
Wisconsin.
The Boilermakers will be a tough fore for the Bucks, due to the
fact that they have been known to throw the ball on almost every
down at times. We are sure they know that our defense is thin
(at least six players on defense for OSU went down with injuries
in the Wisconsin game).
On an every improving defense: DE Akin Ayodele (8 sacks); LB
Mike Rose (20 tackles), and safety Adrian Beasley (39 tackles)
are the main contributors.
Expect a little more running from Purdue to test OSU's young
defensive line. The Boilermakers have two shifty and speedy TB's
in the same mold as OSU's MIchael Wiley.
Purdue is every bit as tough a team as Wisconsin, so the Buckeys
will have their work cut out for them. If no improvement is made,
disaster could loom once more.
PREDICTION: Purdue 31-21
