| The Buckeyes
look to clean up the sloppy play (turnovers, breakdowns on the
O-Line leading to sacks of QB Joe Germaine, not enough D-Line
pressure on the opponent's quarterback, and too many penalties
for huge yardage totals) that finally caught up with them last
week in the first game against a somewhat quality opponent (MSU)
since the Penn State game. The Iowa Hawkeyes are led by the dangerous WR/KR Kalil Hill (Receiving: 28-352 and two touchdowns; Kickoff Returns: averages 34.7 yards a return; Punt Returns: Three TD's and close to 18 yards a return) and TB Ladell Betts (153-606, five TD's) on offense, and DT Jared Devries (51 tackles, 17 tackles-for-loss and eight sacks) and safety Matt Bowen (74 tackles, four TFL and two INT's) on defense. The Bucks, #1 or not, will get every team's best shot and the Hawks, playing for pride and playing at home in loud and tough Kinnick Stadium, will be no different. Iowa will give Ohio State a tussle, but OSU will rebound with a victory, not a big blowout, before taking on college football giant (and nemesis) the might Michigan Wolverines in Columbus next Saturday, Nov. 21st. Prediction: OSU 30-14. |
