The Texas A & M Aggies won its first Big 12 title (after years of success in the Southwest Conference) with its shocking upset of Kansas State in the Big 12 championship game on Dec. 5th.

The Aggies are led on offense by TB's Dante Hall (1,024 yards on 243 carries and eight TD's) and Sirr Parker (scored the tying and winning touchdowns against Kansas State), and Backup QB Brandon Stewart (68-131 for 1,002 yards and seven TD's) who played the whole game in the Big 12 title game due to an injury to starter Randy McCown. A & M, down 27-13 in the fourth quarter to KSU, rallied to tie the Wildcats behind two touchdown passes from Stewart.

On defense, Texas A & M is led by LB's Dat Nguyen (only 5 feet 11 inches tall, 216 pounds), the Lombardi Award winner this season as the Nation's top linebacker, and Warrick Holdman. Both had absolutely awesome numbers: Nguyen had 147 tackles, 22 for loss and four sacks. Holdman had 97 tackles, 17 for loss and eight sacks.

This game will feature, at least on defense it will, Dat vs. Kat (OSU's Andy Katzenmoyer), the last two (1997 and 1998) Lombardi Award winners.

Both teams are fighting for the right to be considered among the top teams in the nation at the end of the bowl season. Ohio State, right now, is a little more vocal about it, saying something similar to the following: "If we win by a decent margin and FSU wins a close game over Tennessee, we should be national champions because both teams would only have one loss." Advice to the Bucks: play the game first, then worry about it!

Let's hope all this premature talk doesn't fire up the Aggies in what should be a close game. If O.T., advantage goes to A & M, as OSU has yet to play an overtime game.

Prediction: OSU 27 - 24.
